What our SEND schools teach
The pathway curriculum
Our SEND schools use the pathway curriculum, providing a broad and balanced education to develop well-rounded individuals who can go forward into their adult lives prepared for the work environment, capable of being independent and productive citizens. The curriculum includes Learning Outside the Classroom activities (Forest School, canoe club, scouts, horse riding, Duke of Edinburgh silver and bronze awards, residential and expeditionary learning) and after school clubs and activities supporting learning and independent living.

Key focus and groups
Mostly GCSE with Entry Level if appropriate
Accreditation
At KS2/3 students will work towards SATs and GCSEs or Functional Skills Level 1 at KS4

Post-16 options

Key focus and groups
Mostly at Entry Level. From KS2 students follow a subject specific timetable with different teachers for each subject

Entry Level 1, 2 and 3 usually available in English, maths, science, art, history and DT

Work experience at KS4 and post-16, usually 1 day/week for 10 weeks
Enrichment
Full enrichment offer including SEND 20, residential trips and Duke of Edinburgh Award
Post-16 options

Our curriculum at Chalk Hill is designed to help all our students to re-engage in learning, filling gaps, offering challenges and ultimately giving our students the breadth and depth of knowledge they need to succeed in their academic careers and beyond.
Our teachers teach subjects that they specialise in and those they are passionate about, passing that passion and experience onto our students.
