Duke of Lancaster Academy Students Shine on PGL Residential

During the week beginning 29th June 2026, our Secondary Residential at PGL Overstrand provided students with an unforgettable five days and four nights filled with adventure, personal achievement and lasting memories.

Throughout the week, students demonstrated incredible resilience, independence and positivity as they embraced every aspect of residential life. From settling into their accommodation and enjoying meals together to participating enthusiastically in a wide range of activities, the group continually impressed staff with their maturity, determination and willingness to try new experiences. Many students stepped well outside their comfort zones, taking on challenges with confidence and courage.

Students enjoyed exciting activities including climbing, giant swings, team-building challenges and a variety of outdoor pursuits, all of which helped to develop confidence, communication skills and friendships. They showed outstanding teamwork, encouraging one another to persevere and celebrating each other’s successes every step of the way.

We are immensely proud of how they represented Duke of Lancaster Academy, consistently demonstrating our SOAR values and acting as exceptional ambassadors for the school. The residential was such a success that we are already looking forward to returning next year!
