Sally Maddams is a teacher of fine art at ONE. She said: “It was a superb exhibition that helped celebrate some of the amazing talent that we have here.

“I think people should come and study here as opposed to somewhere else as it is the best place. It’s a brilliant atmosphere with great resources and talented staff.

“Students go onto amazing destinations, and we have someone who has worked on big TV shows as a set designer. And a former Eastern Education Group student (Charlotte Miller) recently created a painting that went on to have 18 million views online and she has now been able to quit her job to become a full-time artist. Hearing stories like that can only inspire current and future learners.”

Some of the work was given a special principals award.

I’m very happy to win the award. Long term I’m going to go into science but art will always be my hobby. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here – the education was top tier.”

One painting was of my brother who is a doctor.  And the other one is of me now and me when I was younger. I’ve enjoyed my time here. The teachers have been so helpful in helping us step outside of the box. My dream is to do art and travel.”
