Richard Attwell

Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee – Trust

Richard has been a Trustee of Eastern Education Group Trust since 2024, having previously served as a Trustee of SENDAT, which later merged into the Trust. Richard is Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. Richard is also the Trustee lead for Whistleblowing.

Richard is a qualified senior finance professional with more than 30 years’ experience across several industries, having worked for The Jockey Club, The Co-operative Group, Greene King and two local building societies.

Richard has a child with SEND who attends West Suffolk College and so brings parent voice and experience into our governance.

Richard is a member of Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club and Stowmarket Striders running club and volunteers as Co-Event Director at Bury St Edmunds Junior Parkrun.
