Duke of Lancaster’s Year 9 students enjoy Careers Festival of Knowledge

On Thursday 5 March, our Year 9 students visited the Norfolk Showground to take part in the Careers Festival of Knowledge. During the event, students explored a wide range of future career pathways and apprenticeships.

They had the opportunity to speak with stall holders, ask questions, and learn directly from professionals about different industries. Students also took part in several hands-on activities, including simulators and interactive demonstrations, giving them valuable insight into the world of work.

There was a lot for students to think about as they start considering their future options, and they returned to school feeling inspired.

Student reflections

“It was really good. We explored the different careers stalls and learnt about jobs we could do. There were interactive simulators on a building site, welding VR and landing an aircraft. I would love to go again.”

“I really enjoyed the trip learning about all the different possible careers and apprenticeships I could do after school, especially the Greater Anglia rail stall and the Royal Air Force one.”

This experience has helped our Year 9 students think about their next steps and the exciting opportunities ahead of them.
