Eastern Education Group’s free Christmas market is returning to Bury St Edmunds, bringing Christmas joy to local families

Eastern Education Group is getting ready for another fun-filled Christmas market to ring in the festive season.

Much like the inaugural event in 2025, the market will be held at the University and Professional Development Centre in Bury St Edmunds. Taking place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 21 November, the festivities are free to attend and open to all.

The market will host an exciting range of activities, including watercolour Christmas card making, decoration making, and Christmas mandala art workshops which will be available to book soon. If you aren’t the crafty type, the event is the perfect place to shop for unique hand-made gifts, with a selection of local small businesses holding stalls.

Really bringing the Christmas magic to life is the unique Santa experience. Little ones will have the exciting opportunity to take a journey through the magical woods to meet an impressive virtual reality Santa and his real-life elves in the award-winning XR Lab. There will also be a letter writing station, where children can send their messages and wishes off to the North Pole for Santa.

This year will also feature the exciting addition of a live performance from the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir; filling the hangar with the sound of Christmas classics to really set the scene.

Liz Creasy and Jade Peck, co-organisers, said: “We’re excited to bring back the Christmas market this year, with the addition of mulled wine, food and live music. It’s a fun event for the whole family, so please come along, get a head start on your Christmas shopping, and support the local community and charities.”

The Christmas Market is the perfect place to get into the festive spirit, enjoying seasonal treats, drinks, and music at this free, family-friendly event.

Workshops can be booked here, but no booking is required to attend the event itself, accessible on-site parking is provided.

There are limited spaces remaining for stall holders, please register your interest here as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
