SEND Admissions and Tours
School tours
We understand that finding the right school for your child is a hugely important process. To help you make the best decision we offer small group tours of our schools on specific dates.
Sorry there are no school tours during the Summer term. We are focused on the transition for new students. School tours will be available in the Autumn and you will be able to book on those here.
While we would love to be able to offer individual tours all year round, we’re unable to, due with the nature of our provision and our commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of our current students. Similarly, we limit these tours to just parents or carers, sadly we are not able to accommodate children. The tours are purely for parents or carers of children who are looking for a future placement, and not for those who have already been offered a place. There is a maximum of two spaces per family on each tour to ensure that each family has an opportunity to attend a tour. As these are group tours, unfortunately we can’t answer personal questions regarding individual children during the sessions – instead please do contact us separately when we will be able to answer any queries you may have.
Admissions process
Admissions to all our SEND schools are managed centrally by our SEND Services team. The admissions process varies between Local Authorities. If you would like to ask about a school place for your child, as a first step please email us.

Chalk Hill
At Chalk Hill, as part of our admissions process, we require all potential students to have a tour with their parent or guardian. These tours will be the student and up to two significant adults in their life. If you have a blended family, we will happily try to accommodate with an additional tour. If you would prefer to visit without the potential student initially before you consider Chalk Hill as a placement, we are happy to accommodate that; please contact the school office directly to arrange this.
What you can expect on the tour is a meeting with our Headteacher explaining how Chalk Hill works and our aims and expectations for our students. Then you will have a tour of the school and the residential provision so you can see exactly what Chalk Hill has to offer. We prefer our potential students and visitors to come during the school day so you can see what the school really looks like in terms of noise and behaviours. This will help you – and us – decide if Chalk Hill is the right choice for your child’s needs.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about Chalk Hill please do reach out to the school office on 01787 373583 ext 2300 or email Chalkhill-Office@easterneducationgroup.ac.uk
