If you do the Crime, you should do the Time!
With prisoner numbers at record highs and prisons under intense pressure, this lecture explores the growth of the prison population in England and Wales. Drawing on criminological evidence, Stuart Agnew considers the reasons behind this expansion and the challenges it creates for the state, the justice system and the wider public. The talk asks how society should respond to the latest prison crisis, and what it reveals about crime, punishment and public policy today.
