We’re pleased to be hosting Dirty Business? The Future of Britain’s Water with Dr Peter Prinsley MP at Abbeygate Sixth Form College on Friday 26 June. Join national and local experts, including contributors to Channel 4’s Dirty Business, for a discussion on water quality, environmental protection and the future of Britain’s waterways.

Dr Peter Prinsley MP

Dr Peter Prinsley is the Labour MP for Bury St Edmunds & Stowmarket and a former NHS Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon with over 40 years’ experience. Alongside his interests in healthcare, rural affairs and equality, he is a strong advocate for protecting rivers, improving water quality and safeguarding the natural environment.

Ash Smith

Founded Windrush Against Sewage Pollution in 2017 in response to the realisation that water industry regulation was failing. Gathered a team of motivated people from a range of disciplines to become one of the most effective groups in exposing water company illegality and regulatory failure. A retired Detective Superintendent of Police, former angler and scuba diver with a love for the natural world and an intense dislike of abuse and injustice.

Ros Alexander

Professor Ros King has chaired RLCP since March 2024. A Professor Emeritus in English at the University of Southampton, she combines a passion for nature conservation with extensive experience in academic research, education and governance. She brings a practical and multidsciplinary perspective to the challenges of river and landscape restoration.
