A learning centre in Sudbury is hosting a cancer awareness event on Saturday 28 June 2025.
The occasion will be held at the West Suffolk College learning centre based on Cornard Road between 10am and 1pm.
A host of local organisations have been invited along to give information, advice and guidance to local residents.
The session has been organised by Sudbury centre manager, Tina O’Beirne. Tina said: “We have teamed up with a number of charities and support groups to give advice and help to individuals and their families, to enable them to recognise signs and symptoms of cancer and find out more about services and support available in the local area.
“Sadly, most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer – and there are lots of stigmas surrounding this illness – therefore we wanted to create a safe space for people in our community to come and talk to experts who will be available to help and support them.”
The West Suffolk College Sudbury Learning Centre has been open for over 20 years and helps people of all ages retrain, learn new skills or participate in fun leisure courses in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
People don’t have to book for this free event.
