Supported Learning (SEND) at West Suffolk College

Based in Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk College provides a person-centred approach to meeting the individual learning and development needs of students aged 16 to 24 with SEND in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

Our team of dedicated and specialist staff offer individualised programmes designed to enable students to plan their steps to success, access a range of college and community opportunities and make positive progress towards meaningful goals.

Our excellent Learning Support, Pastoral Support and Student Welfare provides students with 1:1 support, in class support, out of class support, lunch time support, assistive technology, personal care, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy are all available for students.

Alongside our provision of full-time diplomas, Apprenticeships and Traineeships we also offer inclusive and comprehensive ‘Pathways’ programmes at Minden House on our Out Risbygate campus, where we operate a ‘total communication’ environment in which speech and writing are supported by sign language, pictures and symbols.
