Priory Mount Road
Priory Mount Road in Bury St Edmunds is a specialist class for young people with an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who have autism and challenging behaviour.
Typically, our students are with us from year 5 or 6 and leave in year 8 or 9, as it is our aim to provide individual, intensive support designed to help them return to mainstream education in key stage 4.
We are a caring community which enables our young people to make the best use of their many talents. Every child has individual special needs and these are addressed through the specialist guidance of our staff and the hard work of our students.
All students at Priory Mount Road are on the school roll at Priory school.
What we strive for
Our vision is to develop well-rounded individuals who can go forward into their adult lives prepared for the work environment and capable of being independent and productive citizens.
We believe that high quality education is best achieved when the needs of each individual pupil – social, emotional, spiritual and educational – are paramount. Through focusing on pupils as individuals, we tailor challenging and enjoyable educational programmes to directly meet their needs.
We work with each student and their parents and carers to understand, and work to overcome, their particular barriers to learning so they can achieve their full potential within a secure and caring environment.
