Chris Higgins

Chris has been a Governor at West Suffolk College and a Trustee of Eastern Education Group Trust since 2015. Chris has served as Vice Chair of the Corporation and Trust Board and has been Chair of several committees. Chris is Vice Chair of Nominations and Governance Committee and a member of the Finance Committee, Remuneration Committee, Resources Committee, Capital Infrastructure sub-committee and the UPD Educational Excellence Committee. 

Chris retired as Vice-Chancellor of Durham University in 2015, after an extensive career in teaching and leadership in higher education at the Universities of California, Dundee and Oxford, Imperial College London, and Durham University. 

Chris brings extensive experience of leadership and governance from across the education and arts sectors, having previously served as a Trustee of Britten-Pears Arts and as Chair of the Board of the National Youth Choirs.
