Medieval Auditors and the Fight Against Corruption
Think you would be clever enough to cheat the system in fourteenth-century England? Through detailed accounts and unexpected discoveries, Jerome Gasson reveals how these officials worked, why corruption was so difficult to detect, and why the auditors did not always have the last laugh.
