Eastern Education Group is committed to improving biodiversity across its campuses while providing learners with opportunities to take part in meaningful, environmental projects.
This year, learners helped carry out biodiversity surveys across all campuses, using ecological survey techniques to record species and assess habitats. Their findings have directly informed habitat improvements, including the expansion of No Mow areas and future plans for wildflower meadow creation. Learners across the Group have also supported enhancements to the Wildlife Area, including the development of a pond and new pollinator-friendly planting.
With a biodiversity baseline now established and a five-year Biodiversity Action Plan in place, annual monitoring will help measure progress and guide future improvements.
To complement this work, wildlife cameras have been installed across several campuses, offering a unique glimpse into the wildlife already thriving on our sites. The video below showcases some of the species captured so far.
