Eleanor Thacker, 18, from Sudbury, achieved a Distinction for her T-Level Health.
On her results, Eleanor said: “I’m very happy with my results and very excited about what they can bring. I’ve just been told I’m the first student for West Suffolk College to get a Distinction for my course.”
On her time at West Suffolk College, Eleanor said: “It’s been interesting, insightful, and difficult at times. College has definitely taught me a few different skills I didn’t have before, like balancing my college placement and work. “A lot of our lecturers work in the healthcare field, so they were able to provide that hands-on experience. able to suggest different job roles and things. They helped me look into job roles that are a little bit less heard of, like learning disability nursing. They’ve been good at giving me different options to look at.”
For Eleanor, one of the main highlights has been the friendships. “We’ve all become very close after the last two years, especially going through hospital placements together, and there was a lot of leaning on each other.”
Eleanor currently works as a support worker. On her next steps, Eleanor said: “I’m planning on taking a gap year and continue doing some training where I work because I really love my job. Maybe doing a social work degree the following year to become a social worker.”
