Construction East, in partnership with CTEC, is proud to launch the Impact Ambassador Programme, a flagship initiative designed to strengthen construction skills, inspire future talent, and embed meaningful industry engagement within technical education across the East of England.
The programme brings together colleges, employers, and emerging industry professionals to deliver a structured, year-long experience aligned to the T Level Design, Surveying & Planning curriculum.
What the Impact Ambassador Programme offers
At the heart of the initiative is a regional design challenge, where student teams work collaboratively to create a ‘Future-Ready Community Infrastructure Hub’ for their local area.
Supported by dedicated Impact Ambassadors early to mid-career construction professionals students will:
- Develop real-world design solutions grounded in community needs
- Build expertise in sustainability, technical coordination, and commercial awareness
- Gain direct industry insight and mentorship through structured monthly sessions

Industry-led learning model
Each participating college is matched with four Impact Ambassadors, who guide students throughout the academic year via monthly employer-led sessions.
This model provides:
- Up to 24 hours of direct employer engagement per student
- Enhanced readiness for industry placements
- A strong link between curriculum delivery and real-world practice

Regional collaboration and scale
The 2026 to 2027 pilot will engage:
- 5 colleges across Norfolk and Suffolk
- 20 Impact Ambassadors
- 100–130 students
This focused pilot will generate measurable outcomes, with the ambition to scale across the wider Eastern region.
The journey
The programme runs from September 2026 to May 2027, starting with regional launch events and culminating in a high-profile showcase event, where students present their work to Construction East Trustees and CTEC leadership.
Building the future workforce
The Impact Ambassador Programme creates a visible and structured bridge between education and industry, enabling employers to directly shape future skills while inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.
