This culinary history talk will deliver a taste of what influenced the choices in food that the Tudors ate, how, when and why. This lecture will take a closer look at the significant dietary changes from the beginning to the close of the Tudor dynasty, involving governmental legislation, religion, health, economy and fashion as it determined food availability, preparation and popularity.

Brigitte Webster is author of Eating with the Tudors (2023), a detailed exploration of food and dining in Tudor England. Brigitte has appeared on Walking Tudor England with Prof. Suzannah Lipscomb, contributes regularly to Tudor Places magazine, and features on national and international history podcasts.
