As part of our celebration of Green Libraries Week from Monday 3rd November to Friday 7th, we are planning a range of engaging and sustainability-focused activities in One Sixth Form College’s LRC.

Here’s what we have planned
- Author Visit by Mai Black and Jane Spencer-Rolfe of Suffolk Writers Group: A workshop centred around Wild Words, open to staff and students.
- Plant clipping giveaways: Staff will be invited to collect plant clippings and take seeds home to grow.
- Supported Learning Cress Heads sessions: We’ll be running fun and educational class sessions with Supported Learning students, including making Cress Heads using eggshells and 100% cotton for them to grow on.
- Sustainability book expansion: We’re increasing our collection of sustainability-themed books for Supported Learning.
- Green Libraries Week Pledge: We will share a Microsoft Form so staff and students can make a pledge of how they will be more sustainable. You can find the link here if you’d like to see it!
Although libraries are already naturally sustainable, we believe these activities reflect our commitment to environmental awareness and inclusive learning and would make a great feature for our site. We will be showcasing everything we do at One on our Instagram: lrc.osfc
