Michael joined Eastern Education Group in September 2011 at West Suffolk College, completing a Level 1 Business Studies course during 2011–2012. He was taught by Iain Mapley and supported by his tutor Daniel Connor. A highlight was winning a marketing competition with his idea for a Chinese-style Subway sandwich, the ‘Kung Fu Chicken’. Encouraged to explore his creativity, Michael also took an evening drawing and painting course. This experience helped him grow from a rebellious schoolboy into an independent learner.
Michael was attracted to Eastern Education Group because of its strong community and passion for Further Education, which empowers learners to take control of their own development rather than follow rigid school structures. This belief continues to inspire his work today.
