Rhapsody Rolfe – 100 Voices

Rhapsody Rolfe studied Performing and Production Arts at Conservatoire East, part of West Suffolk College, from 2019 to 2021. During her time there, she served as a student representative and embraced the opportunity to grow as a performer. ConEast provided a vital foundation for her training and was a key stepping stone toward her goal of performing professionally. After completing the course, Rhapsody went on to study Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester, graduating in 2024 with a 2:1 from the BA (Hons) Triple Threat programme. She now teaches at a performing arts school and has begun her career with professional performance work.

What made you choose to study at Conservatoire East?

I joined Conservatoire East knowing it would help develop my training even further. I was on the Performing and Production arts level 3 course from 2019-2021. I was also one of the student reps in the year.

How did Con East influence your career?

After ConEast I went on to do a Musical Theatre Degree at the University of Chichester. I graduated in 2024 with a 2:1 from the BA Hons Triple Threat Course. Since then, I have had a personal performing job from November-December 2024, and I also teach at a performing arts school on a Saturday. ConEast helped develop my training and was a stepping stone into achieving my goal of performing professionally.

What were your favourite moments from your course?

The course was absolutely amazing during Covid, we were still doing our full timetable online including: dance, singing, fun challenges and even our shows (including the auditions), which we were able to record over zoom. This was definitely a stand out moment, as not only were we performing, we were also operating the “backstage”, such as our microphones and cameras being off/on and the right time, as well as backgrounds on our screens. Also making sure we were looking at the right person in the right direction, even though they were on a screen in front of us.

During our last show, ‘We Will Rock You’, we were able to perform outside, to an actual audience who brought their own garden chairs and blankets! The whole team that worked on that show, including cast, crew and creatives, created such an amazing experience and show in such an awful and uncertain time for the arts. It’s a moment I shall never forget and I’ll forever be thankful for the opportunity. The Performing Arts course is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The way the teachers led the course during Covid shows that this course and teachers are unstoppable, and nothing will get in its way. The teachers care and it was felt and shown so much.

What advice would you give to future Eastern Education Group students?
