There is a quote which states ‘choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life’ – that’s what teaching and working at West Suffolk College has offered me. I joined the College in 1985 as a Lecturer in Business and I have enjoyed every second of it. From the outset the College supported me to achieve my potential in terms of supporting my professional development and further qualifications. I have had a number of roles, both management and lecturing, during the forty years but teaching young (and not so young) students has been the highlight. I am now teaching the children and grandchildren of my first students.
For the past fourteen years I have led the BA (Hons) Business and Management course and have come to recognise the need to develop managers and leaders who are resilient and able to cope with continuous change. Through my position as a lecturer and a Member of the Institute of Marketing I have inspired many people to have aspirations which have supported their future careers and life choices.
