Eastern Education Group launches new initiative to combat skills gaps

Eastern Education Group has launched a new personalised training service for businesses called TRAINING THE EAST.

The scheme has been set up to help companies find solutions to tackle skills gaps.

To enable this, the group has created a one stop shop training portal – training.easterneducationgroup.ac.uk – that allows companies in the East to access a range of services.

These (services) include free advice, ongoing guidance and college experts also offer a free business analysis that identifies and then creates solutions to training and recruitment issues that need resolving.

TRAINING THE EAST has been made possible thanks to a Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) – is a UK government programme that enables further education providers to support businesses.

And the launch of the project took place this week at the Eastern Education Group’s University & Professional Development Centre based on Western Way in Bury St Edmunds.

Joe – who works as a business development executive (within apprenticeships) at Eastern Education Group – said: “It’s a big day for us as we have launched our TRAINING THE EAST platform that will give business’s a centralised hub where they can go and find solutions to all their training needs in one place.

“People can log on, search for courses, identify training opportunities to upskill staff and more generally – the service will support individuals and businesses in terms of careers and recruitment.

“You can also book a free fully funded training needs analysis that will see experts come out and do a deep dive on your business and find out what you need.

He added: “We are one of the only colleges in the country to be graded outstanding in all areas and my message to businesses who didn’t come along to this event is make the most of TRAINING THE EAST, don’t fall behind, be a part of it.”
