SUMMARY:Is Social Liberalism Dead?
DESCRIPTION:Overview \n\n\n\nJoin Dr Andrew Fagan as they explore whether Social Liberalism is dead. And if so should we mourn its passing? Or try to revive it? \n\n\n\nIs Social Liberalism Dead \n\n\n\nThe political life of many liberal democracies is increasingly confusing and disturbing. Illiberal and authoritarian political parties and figures increasingly benefit from wider illiberal attitudes and beliefs amongst parts of the electorate and wider society. Does this signal the end of social liberalism? What is (or was) social liberalism and\, if it is dead\, should we mourn its passing? If it isn’t yet entirely dead\, should we try and revive it? \n\n\n\nBio: \n\n\n\nDr. Andrew Fagan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at the University of Essex\, and the former Director of Essex University’s world-renowned Human Rights Centre. Andrew has written many journal articles and books throughout his academic career and is currently working on a forthcoming Bloomsbury Publishing text\, Human Rights and the Culture Wars. \n\n\n\nHighlights \n\n\n\n\n1 hour 15 minutes\n\n\n\nall ages\n\n\n\nIn person\n\n\n\nFree parking
