DESCRIPTION:Join Aidan Gallagher for an evening of music as he explores the history of the instrument and the composers who shaped its repetoire. \n\n\n\n500 Years of the Guitar and its Music \n\n\n\nExploring 500 years of the classical guitar and its music. This lecture traces the history of the instrument\, the composers who shaped its repertoire\, and the innovations in guitar design that transformed both its sound and status. Along the way\, it considers how the guitar and its related instruments became increasingly popular and influential across different musical periods. \n\n\n\nBio: \n\n\n\nAidan Gallagher is an experienced musician who is currently under the tutelage of classical guitarist Aaron Haas. He is currently working on an arrangement and performance of ‘I attempt from love’s sickness to fly’ by Henry Purcell (English Baroque composer) for the classical Guitar and alto Recorder.
